V2.40

New features:

  1. Add support for CN4 Mobile Computer.
  2. Upgrade license management to use electronic software distribution and licensing rather than CD-ROM media and hardcopy license.

V2.30

New features:

  1. Add support for these devices:
      CN3 Windows Mobile 6.1
      CK3 Windows Mobile 6.1

Fixes:

  1. Symptom: According to the SIP Designer error message, button sizes can be 5 to 10000 but sizes 5 to 9 are ignored with no error message.
  2. Symptom: Any changes to the button properties window get discarded when the font button is selected.  For example: Create a button and enter a value into the label field.  Press the font button and choose a font.  Press OK or Cancel and the label text is back to blank.
  3. Symptom: When setting the command for a key, if you select Send, then cancel with the Escape key, the key gets assigned to send an exclamation. This is compounded when the process is repeated, causing multiple exclamations to be assigned.
  4. Symptom: IBoard.exe renders the keyboard shorter than it is defined when the panel is less than 20 pixels high.  Width seems to behave.
  5. Symptom: TE2000 International characters above 7Fh are not sent to the TE2000 application.
  6. Symptom: Hide Panel fails if a panel name is specified.
  7. Symptom: When SIP Designer is opened by double clicking a file, Help fails to open, either by F1 or by menu option Help > Help.
  8. Symptom: SIP fails after repeatedly pressing the Function (Fn) and Alpha (AB) buttons to switch between the lowercase keyboard and the function key keyboard. On the desktop or CV60 XP, IBoard.exe displays error message "The system is too low on memory to execute the command." On other Intermec computers, the SIP stops responding.

V2.20

New features:

  1. Add support for these devices:
      741/51/61 Windows Mobile 5.0
      CK32 Windows Mobile 5.0
      CV30 CE 5.0
  2. Major rewrite of the User’s Manual to improve usability.

Fixes:

  1. Symptom: The main panel is clipped to fit a standard SIP area when in non floating mode.  With the exception of the CV60, the custom SIP will show greyed out areas over the width of the screen along the bottom when the custom SIP is less than the screen width.
  2. Symptom: Key isn’t sent if user taps-and-holds too long.
  3. Symptom: Send Key command TE2000 International > Spanish > Pts sends “P” three times rather than sending “P”, “t” and “s”.
  4. Symptom: If the optional "parameters" field is omitted from the call_dll command, garbage gets passed to the DLL function.
  5. Symptom: On WinCE devices, the “Intermec Keyboard” input method obscures the menu bar. The behavior of the standard “Keyboard” input method is to position above the menu bar.
  6. Symptom: When the SIP is docked (the default for Windows Mobile), if the Intermec Keyboard panel is not the standard size, it still occupies the standard size on the display.
  7. Symptom: On Windows Mobile (at least CV30 WM 5.0), if Intermec Keyboard is set as the default IM by changing registry entry HKCU\ControlPanel\SIP\DefaultIM, it initially displays in the wrong position. If another IM is selected then Intermec Keyboard is reselected, it appears in the correct location.
  8. Symptom: On CN3 WM 5.0 and CV30 WM 5.0, the final install message includes a warning - "The program you have installed may not display properly because it was designed for a previous version of Windows Mobile software." This message should be suppressed because Intermec Keyboard supports WM 5.0.

V2.10

New features:

  1. Add support for CN3 Windows Mobile 5.0 computers.
  2. Add support for CV30 Windows Mobile 5.0 computers.
  3. Add a menu for "TE2000 Fn Keys".
  4. Add more "TE2000 Special Keys" - VK_TE_RETURN, VK_ROLLUP, VK_RESET, VK_PRV_SC, VK_NEXT_SC, VK_PA2, VK_PA3, VK_MODE, VK_FMARK, VK_VIEW_LEFT, VK_VIEW_RIGHT, VK_SREQ, VK_FLD_EXIT, VK_KEYPD, VK_ERASE, VK_REMOVE, VK_CLR.

Fixes:

  1. Symptom: Fn keys don’t work in TE2000 on CV30 and CN3.
  2. Symptom: SIP Designer icon in SmartSystems Console appears as a black square in some states.
  3. Symptom: When the CN3 hardware keyboard CAPS key is enabled, the keys from the Intermec Keyboard are incorrectly shifted, e.g. the "3" key outputs "#" when the computer is in CAPS mode.
  4. Symptom: Misspelling in Tools menu item "Test keyboard" - the o and a are transposed.
  5. Symptom: If no button has focus and the user selects Edit > Select All then Edit > Button Properties, the SIP Designer aborts.

KNOWN ISSUES

The ANSI VK_TAB doesn't work in some standard applications such as Pocket Word and Notes. It does work with some third party editors (NotePad), the Office Mobile applications and in the TE2000 application on Windows Mobile 5 and later devices.

The right click menu doesn't follow the mouse in zoom views. When you activate the right click menu while in a zoom view other than 1x, the menu pops up in a position relative to the non zoom view.  This makes working in a zoom environment more difficult.  The box drawn for selecting multiple objects is not drawn correctly.

The views in File > Print Preview are too small to be useful.

The image pool does not have a link to the image file name; the images displayed are resized, but not relative to each other; and the image preview window only displays one and a half images high and is not resizable.

A failed File > Open closes the current file and doesn’t refresh the screen.

Sometimes non-applicable properties are not disabled. For example, when Use button image is selected, width and height properties do not apply but they are not disabled.

Sometimes the Test Keyboard window fails to display all keys, after the user alternately minimizes and maximizes the Test Keyboard window and a Notepad window.

If another window covers the Test Keyboard window, tapping the SIP Designer tab in the taskbar does not restore the Test Keyboard to the foreground. Workaround: Minimize the window that is covering the Test Keyboard.

Bitmap images of a single color do not appear to get added to the image pool. Actually, they are added but there is no visible representation in the image pool, unless you click at the location where the bitmap should be.

Setting "Draw inverted when selected" from Select All -> Button Properties does not update individual Button Properties.

A floating panel placed at 0,0 does not overwrite the Windows Mobile navigation bar so the title bar is unreachable to drag the panel.

The SIP Designer window flickers when buttons are dragged and dropped, and when the user clicks-and-drags the handle at the panel's lower right corner.

Scroll bars are missing when a new panel is created that is larger than the SIP Designer window.

Setting the Main panel Initialization command to "show_panel Main" or "toggle_panel Main" causes error message "The system is too low on memory to execute the command" when you test the keyboard.

The underline character (_) is not visible on a button unless the button height is at least 24.

Intermec Keyboard doesn't resize the SIP window if panel sizes differ.

SipSetInfo behavior does not match the standard Keyboard IM. When the SIP is not docked, SipSetInfo cannot move the standard Keyboard IM but can move the Intermec Keyboard.

Windows Mobil 6.5 – If the Send Key Down command is used to define a button on a SIP and the button is repeatedly pressed only the first enter is displayed in the receiving app.  This is believed to be an OS issue and it is recommended that the Send Key command be used.
