REQUIREMENTS

 

1) You need these hardware components to use the Intermec Multimedia Tool Kit:

 

Pentium PC, 400 MHz or higher

 

128MB RAM (196MB recommended)

 

360MB Hard drive space for minimum installation (720MB for complete)

 

CD-ROM drive compatible with multimedia PC specification

 

VGA or higher-resolution monitor (Super VGA recommended)

 

Microsoft Mouse or compatible pointing device

 

2) Windows XP (Service Pack 2 or later -- Home, Professional, or Server) is recommended.

 

3) Visual Studio 2005 or 2008 is required for developing both native (unmanaged C++) and .NET applications for Intermec devices running WindowsCE, Windows XP or WindowsMobile.

 

4) Microsoft ActiveSync 4.2 or later. If you are working with devices running WindowsMobile 6, you will need version 4.5 or later. ActiveSync is used to download and debug applications you develop with the Mobile Gadgets Resource Kit to your Intermec devices.

 

Known issues

 

-       Due to known memory limitations with WM6.5 as well as available memory on the 70 series, users may experience occurrences when running large applications that the Multimedia RK may not be able to take photos using the highest resolution of image settings. If this occurs, change the settings in MMRK to take a lower resolution of photo.

 

-       An error can occur when you try to install Intermec software (such as IDL Resource Kits) using an invalid version of agent.exe. Agent.exe is part of Intermec's 3rd-party software update system called FLEXnet Connect more commonly known as Intermec Update. Several Intermec Software components utilize FLEXnet Connect, such as SmartSystems, All IDL Resource Kits and Toolkits, DEX Toolkit and Verdex. This error may also occur if any 3rd party software utilizing version newer than v6 of FLEXnet Connect has been installed on your system.  .  If you encounter an error similar to: "The file 'agent.exe.4747EFCD_A8CE_4016_80F6_BCAD9FE72' is not marked for installation." please contact Product Support or Developer Support.

 

TIPS

This software is created and intended to be used with:

         Intermec CN3, CN4,CS40, CN50 and 70 Series computers with built-in Color Camera.

         Intermec CN3 with built-in EA11 style Imager

         Intermec CV30 Windows Mobile 5 - 6 device with an attached USB UVC 1.1 compliant USB webcam. (SW is tested with a Logitech 5000 Pro and 9000 Pro webcam. Other UVC 1.1 compliant cameras might work as well.)
